LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update In Progress

After months and months of waiting, the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is finally rolling out to more users in the United States as April approaches. The LG G4 was one of the first smartphones on the planet that wasn’t a Nexus to get Marshmallow, and now the old LG G3 gets the same. It’s probably the last major update and below is what owners need to know.

On September 29, Google announced and approved Android 6.0 Marshmallow, formerly known as Android M, and released it to the public on October 5. It only took three weeks for LG to push an update to the G4, but the LG G3 didn’t get the same quick updates. Verizon LG G3 started to take Marshmallow first came back in January, and now both AT&T and T-Mobile are finally doing the same.

We’ve heard from multiple sources, and even LG itself, that testing is ongoing for the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, the company has even released the source code that indicates an update is in the final stages. Then both Sprint and US Cellular in the US received the LG G4 Android 6.0 update, which gives us reason to believe the LG G3 will be next. However, it’s been more than three months without any notice, but it’s coming today.

The new LG G5, G4 available now is already on Marshmallow, and several US carriers are already pushing Android 6.0 for the LG G3, the company has been busy. However, the LG G3 update is progressing extremely slowly, but we finally have good news.
