Inbox: Google is already abandoning its ‘revolutionary’ email client

Done Gmail product manager Matthew Izatt announced on his Google blog that Inbox will be disappearing soon. His death is scheduled for March 2019, we learn. The Inbox client became available in 2014 and was only available by invitation in its early days. The email client is one with Gmail, but brings many new features thanks to a new interface and AI-related features: “smart replies, occasionally putting important emails at the top of the list, snoozing emails, archiving shortcuts, etc…” .

Google Inbox is absolutely dead and buried in March 2019

Over time, Google integrated various Inbox functions into Gmail. Recently, Gmail got a new look and some new features. For Google, it’s a logical continuation of things, and it doesn’t want to keep two services that look more alike over time. Many users still refer to Inbox and it’s kind of “transition guide” uploaded for porting by the search giant calmly back to Gmail.

The service’s final demise is only a few months away. Google frequently discontinues some of its services for many reasons, either due to lack of popularity or duplication with another service. Sooner or later, Inbox is doomed. It looks like Google has done most of its experiments. Finally, as Matthew Izatt explains:all your conversations are already waiting for you in Gmail. See you there”. Share your thoughts on Inbox’s demise in the comments.
