The web giant regularly improves the Google Telephone formula. Since August 2020, the Google Phone beta is available on any Android smartphone. This was not the case before. New features have been included along the way, such as the ability to record voice calls.
But this Wednesday, September 30, 2020, our colleagues at Android Police confirmed that the beta version of Google Telephone welcomes another new feature. In the effect, the app will now be able to “loudly” speak the number or name of the person calling you. A very practical feature when you can’t look at the screen (for example, in a car) or for people who are visually impaired or blind.

This feature called Caller ID Announcement, accompanied by another connected innovation this time Google Call Screen. As a reminder, this feature allows hearing impaired users to enjoy a transcript of a phone call. But these texts are automatically saved in the memory of the smartphone.
So as not to overload the smartphone storage with dozens and dozens of records, Google has integrated a system to automatically delete transcripts after thirty days. So you no longer need to constantly monitor your smartphone’s memory. However, it should be noted that the function Call Screen Although it has been deployed in the United States for about a year, it is not yet available in France.
As stated earlier, Caller ID Announcement is is only available in Google Phone beta. It is also worth noting that only a few users can benefit from it. Google wants to analyze the behavior of its servers after the integration of this new feature. So it will only be available to a few randomly selected users. Of course, we hope that all these features will be quickly accessible to all users.
