In the small world of messaging apps, it’s a matter of curiosity who can best copy the other. WhatsApp, which has been trying to catch up with its competitors for several months, definitely wins the award in this field. But he’s not the only one. Google Messages has also been full of new features lately. With the ability to modify messages after sending and have AI respond on your behalf, users never have time to get bored.
But there’s one thing where WhatsApp is undeniably better than Google Messages: image management. While media sharing and commenting is entirely possible on both apps, WhatsApp understands that no one wants to send two messages at once for a single image. This doesn’t apply to Google Messages, which prefers to send the two separately: image first, caption second, creating two notifications that should only be a single message to the recipient. It’s nothing dramatic, but it’s a minor flaw that’s still hard to figure out. Therefore, we had to wait until the beginning of 2024 for the Mountain View company to finally decide to solve the problem.
As insider AssembleDebug reports, a future update will soon add the legend to its media with a single message. Everything becomes a single block instead of two separate messages as shown in the image above. It is not yet known when this feature will be available for general use. On the other hand, change will be welcomed.
