Google Maps continues to evolve. Google Maps was already showing information about electric charging stations: how far they are, how many are available. Now if you type “electric charging station” and enable the “fast charging” filter, Google Maps will show this: only charging stations with a capacity of at least 50 kW. With the same sense of practicality, you can also filter stations that do not offer the appropriate socket type for your vehicle. This new feature is already available globally on both Android and iOS.

With this feature, Google Maps gives priority to electric cars.

Google Maps is a more important app than ever. Whether you’re a pedestrian, a driver, or even a cyclist, the list of useful or simply stunning features continues to grow. Let’s talk about one of our favorites, the Immersive View, which has been available since last month. The latter works with Street View and allows you to:explore shops and restaurants virtually From Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. I hope it will be available in France very soon.

Google isn’t just interested in individuals. Google Maps now includes technology that helps you determine the most energy-efficient route, whether you’re driving a thermal or electric vehicle. The Mountain View company will make this technology available to companies to enable them to achieve economies of scale. This API is not available yet, but Google has stated that it should be available before the end of the year.
