Google Keyboard now syncs your dictionary to all your devices

Google keyboard has received a significant update as it adds a feature that will make life easier for multiple users. It will now be possible sync your personal dictionary with Google account to find on all Android devices. We wonder why Google didn’t think of it sooner!

For example, imagine that you sometimes use your smartphone and sometimes your tablet. It’s tiring to have to re-enter your personal phrases on every device every time to get a recommendation. After that, the recommendations will be the same across all your Android devices.

All you have to do to enable this option is

  • go to menu Settings > Language and input
  • Choose Google Keyboard
  • Go to the “Accounts and privacy” submenu
  • Enable sync

Note also that other new features have been added, such as Emoji support on Bluetooth keyboards. But some have also disappeared. In particular, it will no longer be possible to enter entire sentences by swiping towards the space bar between each word without lifting your finger, or simply select the degree of self-correction that you can enable or disable.

It should also be noted that the option that divides the keyboard on tablets into two and is defined in the Android M developer preview is not yet available in the Google Keyboard app.
