Maz_Zeta, a user of the Reddit social network, just an interesting discovery. If you enable browsing mode on Google Chrome for android, your browser will not track the web pages you visit or the passwords you type. On the other hand, it counts every video watched in the notification log. According to the author of the discovery, this flaw is not present in any other web browser on Android.
Google Chrome on Android: private browsing isn’t really private!
Likewise, this flaw is only found on Android smartphones. When playing a video in incognito mode in Google Chrome on Android, a notification will appear on your lock screen for easy control of the play button. However, Android systematically keeps track of every notification in the notification log.
As you can see, if Google Chrome does not record the titles of the videos you watch, your smartphone does! As the author of the discovery adds to his Reddit thread, “if you use private browsing mode, you don’t want to follow the videos you watch”.
If your smartphone is running only under Android version without an overlay added by a manufacturer or app, it is not possible to access this notification log. However, many apps available in the Play Store allow the user to bypass this restriction. This applies to alternative launchers such as Nova Launcher, ADW Launcher 2, Action Launcher 3 or Hola Launcher.
Remember: This is the same type of flaw in WhatsApp that allows you to delete a message older than 7 minutes.
