The web version of Gmail has recently changed its interface, adopting the Material Design that Google loves so much and is slowly imposing itself on all the apps and services of the Mountain View giant. Well, Gmail for Android will also get a makeover, and we got a glimpse during Cloud Next 2018.
Gmail for Android switches to Google’s Material Design
Gmail will also surrender to the white trend on Android, as seen in the slide photo above posted by 9to5Google. It’s now a constant at Google. The main screen is no longer red, it currently allows you to highlight the new message option (replacing its stylus with a + sign) and menu, moving to a simpler and more modern design. We also note that the search bar is much more highlighted here: it is integrated directly into the interface, while in the current version you have to press the magnifying glass to view it.

By the way, Gmail for Android also saves Various features already appeared in the web version. A very practical option, the app offers a list of files and photos as email attachments from the home screen. There’s no need to open them and scroll down the email to download documents, so it’s a significant time saver.
