Galaxy S9 Pre-Order Date, Time and Early Shipping Information

Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be in stores from March 16. Here’s what you need to know if you want to pre-order or pick up the Galaxy S9 early. We’ll be reviewing the S9 release date, pre-orders, pricing, and when it will ship to buyers.

All your favorite carriers or retail stores will carry both devices and announcements have already been made. And while rumors suggest a massive price hike, that’s not the case. The Galaxy S9 is nearly the same price as last year’s Galaxy S8, depending on where you buy it.

As expected, the S9 is coming to stores from March 16, but you can pre-order it right now and get it even sooner. These phones will be available worldwide and can be purchased or pre-ordered from all major operators, regional operators, retail stores and more.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy has all the fancy new bells and whistles we’ve come to expect from high-end phones. And while it may not seem like a big upgrade, it is. Some of these include massive 5.8 and 6.2 inch Quad-HD Infinity displays, the powerful new Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB of RAM and 6GB on the larger Galaxy S9+ for better performance and multitasking. You’ll get 64GB of storage, a better fingerprint scanner, new face unlock controls, and a completely overhauled camera. Yes, the camera is one of Samsung’s best selling features and we’ll talk more about it below.

Galaxy S9 Pre-Order Date and Time

Both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ went on pre-order. You’ve likely already ordered, but if not, do so before it’s too late. Additionally, Best Buy, Target, and many other retail outlets will also accept orders and offer some good deals to match. Most importantly, Best Buy has a deal that gets you $450 off, and T-Mobile fits in.

Unfortunately Samsung doesn’t offer special pre-order deals like the free Gear VR from previous years, but we’ll update this post if anything comes up.

Where to Buy Galaxy S9

You will of course be able to buy the S9. All carriers and multiple major retail stores will deliver the next big thing. To help you pre-order your Galaxy S9, below are links to all major carriers, their announcements, prices, and more. We will continually update this list as carriers and stores release more information.

The best place to buy the Galaxy S9 directly from Samsung for $719 or $839. Carriers like Verizon or AT&T are asking for more from Samsung, in some cases $100 more, which is ridiculous. That said, carriers also have nice swap deals. This year is a little confusing, but here’s the breakdown.

Pricing will vary by carrier, and they’re all over the map so far. Pricing is different for everyone, but T-Mobile is the cheapest carrier. Verizon has some excellent trading opportunities Where you can save up to $350, consider that before paying the full price. Almost any new phone will get you $200-$350 in trade credits.

Most carriers have the same swap deals or tiers, so keep that in mind. If you port your number, Verizon gives an extra $150 on top of the $350 trade.

AT&T, like Verizon, charges more than Samsung and many other carriers. For whatever reason, the Galaxy S9+ is almost $100 more if you want an AT&T version. This is what I needed so I bought it from Samsung.com as it has a better trade off deal and early shipping.

We can expect T-Mobile to have some special deals similar to Netflix’s free year like they did in 2016, not to mention they’ll ship before the March 16 release date. Click here for more details, and to book one today. T-Mobile is cheaper than both Verizon and AT&T.

T-Mobile is doing the usual trade-in bill credit and offering up to $360 off the Galaxy S9 or S9+ with an eligible trade-in. Everything from the Galaxy S7, iPhone 7 to the LG V30 will get you $360 off. Older phones like the Galaxy S5 or S6 get you around $200 off.

Once we get more Information from Sprint, US Cellular, MetroPCS and others, we will confirm all the details. Either way, almost any carrier or retail store will have both phones from March 16.

Sprint has confirmed that they will offer the phones new unlimited plans for around $792 for the Galaxy S9 and $912 for the Galaxy S9+. We’ll see why carriers want so much more from Samsung.com.

Galaxy S9 Release Date

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will once again be available both online and in stores from March 16. Pre-orders are still being accepted as we speak, but you can’t go in and buy until the 16th.

An important aspect of the release date is when carriers will actually ship your phone. We’ll talk more about this below as it varies a bit.

How to Buy Galaxy S9 Early?

If you’re excited about dual cameras, dual stereo speakers, or can’t wait to get one, you’ll be happy to know there’s a way to get the Galaxy S9 early. Basically, if you pre-order the Galaxy S9 from the right place, you can get it on March 13. That’s three to five days earlier than anywhere else.

When you buy the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ on Samsung.com, you’ll get the phone on March 13 or March 14 at the latest. This is what they call the “Samsung advantage”. Do not forget to choose 1 day and 1 night shipping.

In previous years, carriers like T-Mobile were shipping phones earlier than their official release date. It looks like T-Mobile is another solid pick this year. Estimated shipping date for T-Mobile is March 13-15 with free 2-day shipping. A similar 13-15 from AT&T. We see the post notification. But looking at Verizon’s website it says “Delivered on March 16”. Also, this shipping date is an estimate only.

Galaxy S9 Colors

Another question you will definitely have is regarding the color of the phone. Samsung offers these phones worldwide in five colors. However, those in the United States will only have three color options to begin with. These are Black, Blue and Purple. The silver and gold option may arrive at a later date.

Whatever color you choose, remember that the front is all black. This is because the bezels are very small and full of sensors. Not only does it integrate the screen with the body for an enhanced video experience, it also hides all the sensors and the impressive front camera.
