Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop Release Details Confirmed

As a Galaxy Note Edge Android 5.0 Lollipop finally gets closer to launch, new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details have been confirmed for users in the United States.

Earlier this year, Samsung started rolling out the Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update. The first major update for the curved version of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, the update brings new features and improvements to the device, which arrived late last year with Google’s Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system built into it.

Slowly but surely, Samsung has stepped up its Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop rollout, including in the United States where the update for the Sprint Galaxy Note Edge and US Cellular Galaxy Note Edge is coming. The update has also been confirmed for the AT&T Galaxy Note Edge, but the software doesn’t appear to have been released yet. Verizon has not made any statement.

Today, one of the missing Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop updates in the United States is on its way to its eventual release. T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update finally moved From the “Manufacturer Development” stage to the carrier’s “T-Mobile Test” stage; this means that the software is currently in internal testing.

T-Mobile’s internal testing process is highly unpredictable, although it usually takes no more than a few weeks to complete. After internal testing is complete, the operator will make the update generally available. In other words, it should be a matter of time before the carrier releases two of the remaining Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop updates.

The Magenta carrier is also preparing to release a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update, and it’s possible that it will release these two in close proximity to each other. We’ve seen other carriers take a similar route with their Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop releases. T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update has been in carrier testing for a few days now and should be making its way to general release. T-Mobile is the only carrier that has yet to release a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update.

The new T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details come right after a host of other Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop release details, including new rollouts and delays. In Australia, Vodafone had to push back the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop updates due to issues in the testing process. The carrier and Samsung are now investigating the issues, and it’s unclear when the new software will be available to device users.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop upgrades continue to make big strides in the weeks after their release. The two updates, both left behind from deployments to the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, are among the few Lollipop updates that Samsung is currently offering to smartphone and tablet users.

The company is currently rolling out updates for the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S series tablets. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.4 Lollipop update recently landed in the Netherlands.

Still, all these updates have a long way to go before Samsung can complete it. Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets are available in a number of different regions, on a number of different carriers, and it usually takes several months for the company to deliver the new software to users around the world.

Samsung is said to be working on a brand new version of Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and at least one other device, but it’s unclear if Samsung will be heading towards its older devices. We expect Samsung to at least get close to completing their current rollout before moving to another version of Android 5.0.
