I love trying new apps on my Android. Things get a little boring if I don’t have a fun or innovative app on my phone. And that’s why the quest to find new Android apps never ends. If you’re like me who likes to try this kind of app, don’t worry, you’re in luck. Every month we compile a list of free and new Android apps on the Google Play Store for you.
These apps not only have their new label, but are also innovative in their own way. For example, we have a new browser on our list that can quickly convert site content to audio files. Then there’s a great personalization app that lets you control the brightness of your phone’s screen by simply swiping the screen.
It is interesting, is not it?
So what are we waiting for then? Lets start.
1. Epic Privacy Browser
Looking for an alternative browser to Google Chrome? If your answer is yes, you should definitely give Epic Privacy Browser a try. It combines a lot of useful features and offers a clean and uncluttered interface.
One of the features I liked the most was the Audio Queue option. As the name suggests, it converts a web post to an audio version. Therefore, if you do not want to read a long post or article, click on the option in question, which is hidden under the three-dot menu.
When you’re done, plug in your headphones, tap the Play button and Voila! No more eyestrain.
Another useful feature is the option to download videos and other snippets from web pages. All these nifty features are hidden under the three-dot menu so they’re easily accessible.
Again, the browser is one-handed mode friendly. So if you want to switch from the default Google apps, this browser can replace the current Google Chrome browser.
2. Footej Camera 2
Footej 2 is the successor to Footej Camera, one of the popular Android manual camera apps. The highlight of this camera app is that it lets you play with manual camera options like ISO, Focus, and Exposure, among others. So, whether it’s a slow motion video or a regular video, you can try it to your heart’s content.
Moreover, the same options are available for the front camera. It also packs its own gallery
Footej 2 uses Android’s camera 2 API to do all the magic. If your phone does not have the API in question, it will not work properly.
3. Google Socratic
If you’re a school student, Google’s Socratic will be your new best friend. This tutorial lets you take a picture of equations and shows you step-by-step solutions for it.
And the good thing is that it’s not limited to just matching equations. You can also study Chemistry, Algebra and Geometry equations. Tap the required option on the homepage, add your questions and the solution will be presented to you.
Overall, it is a rich application and combines several features. Also, the interface is clean and clutter-free.
4. FilterBox – Pro Notification Manager
The only problem with installing new apps is that each of them sends dozens of notifications a day. Yes, the new wallpaper app you just installed will annoy you with new notifications every day. Annoying? Don’t make me work!
Well, say Hello to FilterBox.
As the name suggests, this app filters notifications to your phones. It allows you to create rules for specific applications. For example, if you want to mute notifications of a particular Whatsapp Group between 8am and 6pm, this app lets you do that.
Tap the Plus icon on the homepage and create a rule that meets your needs.
We tested this FilterBox and it works great. I would mute some Whatsapp groups and Instagram DMs (see the best tips and tricks for Instagram DM) that distract during the day but enjoy interacting after office hours.
Apart from that, you can see which apps send you the most notifications and likewise create a rule based on them.
5. Super Status Bar
If you like to customize your Android, you will love Super Status Bar because of its quirks. This awesome app brings swipe gestures to the area around your phone’s status bar. So, if you want to reduce the brightness of your screen, just swipe left at the top of the screen. Is not it beautiful?
I cannot say that the application is easy to understand at first glance. Take some time to understand all the different options.
Besides the above, you can also add a battery bar to the top of the screen.
The Super Status Bar only lets you enable one feature at a time. You will need to upgrade to the paid version to unlock them all.
6. Cast to TV Pro
If you are looking for a simple and easy to use streaming app, you can try the aptly named Cast to TV Pro. The app is supported devices that ship with Chromecast as well as Xbox One and Amazon Fire TV among others.
The good thing is that it shows compatible devices as soon as you launch the app. Of course, compatible devices and your phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
7. Video Splitter for WhatsApp Status, Instagram
Well, the name says it all. If you want to post long videos on your Instagram Stories and WhatsApp Status, this app will help you to split those videos into small clips.
Considering the current Corona virus pandemic, WhatsApp has reduced the video length to 15 seconds to reduce the load on the internet. And now, you can only upload 15 second video as status. So, if you have a truly outstanding video to share with your contacts, this app will help you fill the gap.
Using the application is easy and simple. All you have to do is upload the video, choose the timer and that’s it.
The video will be automatically split into two and saved in the phone gallery.

April 2020 is for social distancing and keeping yourself safe. And to kill time (if you have spare time), you can use Android apps to learn new skills. Whether it’s learning a new language, improving a language you know, or learning a new game.
