If you are used to Apple Watches, the traditional low consumption mode of your Apple watches must have frustrated you more than once. Despite the more than convincing autonomy of these last-generation models, Apple Watches offer a particularly restrictive reserve mode. Once 10% of the battery life is reached, it is no longer possible to use the watch freely. All features are disabled and it is only possible to read the time on the black background of the watch.
Therefore, the new low consumption mode of Apple Watch Series 8 will correct this flaw. The information was just revealed by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. According to him, the Californian giant would have overhauled this function to offer future Apple Watch Series 8 users a much less restrictive “reservation” mode.
Apple Watch Series 8’s low power mode will be less restrictive
The journalist even claims that the new low consumption mode will allow users to continue using Apple Watch apps and features without consuming too much energy. All of this should work similarly to the Low Power Mode we’re already familiar with in iOS and macOS, which simply suspends background activities and reduces device performance to save battery life.
Note that this new low consumption mode is supposed to be exclusive to Apple Watch Series 8. The same Mark Gurman had recently announced that Apple would implement this new feature in future watchOS 9 firmware. However, the journalist just backed down and today guaranteed this innovation. consumption mode will be available only on Apple Watch Series 8. Developers currently testing watchOS 9 specifically pointed out that the reserve mode is very similar to previous software versions.
Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to officially see the light of day next September. Among the new features announced, it is noteworthy that the Apple Watch Series 8 will be equipped with a body temperature sensor. It will also have a new design with straight edges.
