Google+: A revolutionary new version is coming to Android

Leo Deegan, the social network’s engineering manager, announced via a post on Google+ that the Android Google+ app will be fully updated. In a post dated February 5, 2018, it states that an update will be released “in the coming days.” This will introduce a brand new version of the app that started its revolution.

Google+: Android app update

It’s clear from the way Deegan has talked about it, that this will be an update that promises to shake things up before and after the Google+ update for a service that has failed to convince its audiences. “This new release is the culmination of a complete rewrite of many key features,” he explains.

“Using the latest Android application infrastructure means that our team New features on a modern technical basis,” says Deegan. Changes we can currently expect include minor interface and design changes, as well as improvements to rendering and scrolling.

But the next update is just one first stage and starting over on a solid foundation will allow developers to introduce more obvious innovations in the future. Therefore, we are witnessing a resurgence of the Google+ app for Android, but it seems difficult to make up for the accumulated lag. Unless there are tangible shock announcements following this revolutionary overhaul, it’s hard to see users turning to the social network again.
