PayPal reported that it is now supported as a payment tool by the Samsung Pay app, which allows contactless payment via smartphone. That’s why it’s now possible to pay for purchases with PayPal instantly and quite simply, through merchants with the necessary technology.
Samsung Pay integrates PayPal as a payment method
This is timely news as Samsung Pay will finally be available in France before summer 2018. Owners of a Samsung smartphone (the app cannot be used on another brand’s device) will then be able to pay using their smartphone. More and more brands will equip themselves to accept such payments, which will become more democratic. When it launches in France, Samsung Pay will be exclusive to Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne. Customers of other banks will have to be patient.
To add PayPal as a new payment method to your Samsung Pay account, simply follow a procedure that differs slightly from adding a debit card:
- to push + to choose a new payment method
- choose add PayPal under section Add payment card
- Enter Samsung Pay password or use biometric recognition
- Create a PIN for in-store purchases
- Choose a card or bank account associated with PayPal
