UFC 280 was one of the most stacked cards in recent history. The main event of the card was the Bantamweight Title Fight between TJ Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling. Fans were surprised and disappointed to see how the fight played out. TJ’s shoulder injury raised his ugly head during the fight. As Sterling knocked TJ down, everyone watching was horrified to see TJ’s shoulder dislocate.

TJ then went on to explain the full extent of the injury:I tore the rotator cuff muscle, the supraspinatus… I have a full-thickness tear in my supraspinatus, a full-thickness tear in my infraspinatus, a tear in the teres minor, an anterior labral tear, and the head of my humeral head is crushed from dislocation.”
While many believe this is Dillashaw’s last chance at the title, it would be sad if it ended like this. TJ also revealed the timeline of his rehab:I’d probably be back to decent apps in six, seven months.“It looks like TJ Dillashaw will either be back late next year or possibly miss the whole of 2023. That said, there will likely be loads of challengers when he returns. waiting to take over the former champion.

TJ Dillashaw explains why he fought Aljamain Sterling while he was injured

TJ Dillashaw has had his fair share of community and especially Dana White for fighting injured at UFC 280. Though Aljamain Sterling didn’t care much for this fact when asked about it. However, TJ Dillashaw revealed that he included the injured shoulder in his game plan for the Sterling fight.
Speaking on the same podcast, TJ said: “It just affected my shot. It’s a perfect match, I think Aljamain’s shot is ridiculous anyway.” Maybe TJ had factored his injury into his plan to beat Aljamain Sterling. However, everyone saw why Sterling became the UFC Bantamweight Champion at UFC 280.

TJ dominated both laps and once his shoulder went off, he never got a chance to correct during a lap. Sterling never gave him a chance. although his shoulder thrown back before second roundThe shoulder popped out again as Sterling regained control of the fight. This essentially ended the war as Sterling’s strikes caused a TKO. It’s safe to say that TJ’s plan didn’t work.
