The publisher of the messaging app is announcing a number of new features. After adding group video calls to WhatsApp, the developers decided to introduce new tools for both group participants and admins. WhatsApp: an update that improves group discussions, explore the list of new features
The latest WhatsApp update will allow admins to have better group management. Users will also be able to more easily read messages written while away. Here is the list of new features announced:
- Capture group discussions: When a user is not present, the app will highlight all posts mentioning him using the @ button.
- The group description appears at the top of the thread and lets new participants know what topics to discuss
- The group information page will make it easy to find members participating in the discussion.
- Administrative tools have been enhanced to allow restriction of certain privileges to certain members of the group, such as permissions to change the group’s description.
Administrators who created the group can no longer be banned by other users. However, it will still be possible to do this for other administrators. For the record, WhatsApp has over a billion daily active users. Other improvements should be noted, as WhatsApp recently made it possible to watch videos from Facebook or Instagram in chats. All these new features have been introduced in the stable version available on the Play Store.
