Dwayne Johnson at last night’s UFC 278 Edwards vs. Comments on Usman main event
Kamaru Usman defended his Welterweight title against Jamaican-born Leon Edwards last night at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. The title for this match was UFC 278, and that was most likely the reason for the staggering attendance at the event, which was reported to be around 17,000 according to an estimate by WrestleTix.
Arriving at the fight, Rocky pushed Champion Usman to the final round with a thrilling action that filled his fight throughout the duration of the match. Edwards created a last-minute surprise by knocking out the reigning Champion and henceforth winning the Welterweight Championship for himself, preventing Usman from tying Anderson Silva’s untouchable record for most consecutive octagon wins.
WWE Legend Dwayne Johnson also expressed his appreciation for this astonishing match, describing high-octane sports as one of the most incredible and unpredictable sports at times. “It doesn’t matter if there are 2 minutes or 2 seconds in the match, anything can happen in such situations,” he said.
