Ever since the Carolina Panthers bought Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns, one question has been asked around the world: Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield. Since then, the world has been gasping for fireworks, derogatory comments, and pickpockets in this Quarterback competition.
The world is disappointed that this competition at least has no fire outside, as some have not made their intentions clear yet and again, as some thought this battle for the starting QB spot between the two and the Panthers staff was too amicable. Head Coach Matt Rhule asks Baker or Sam the same question.
After the Patriots fight, a decision on the Baker Mayfield-Sam Darnold situation will be made by Matt Rhule.
Rhule has yet to give a definitive answer or any answer, as the answer may eventually determine whether he will keep his job. But according to Rhule, the end of the war is near.
Rhule’s Carolina Panthers will face Bill Belichik’s New England Patriots on August 19, when both Quarterbacks will have a chance to prove themselves, after which the Panthers team will decide.
“I’m not going to put a timeline on the quarterback position until I’m back from Patriots week.” said Rhule, via ESPN’s David Newton. “Patriots week is a real litmus test for us. This will show us where the men are.”
