LG V30 Release Details Firm Upgrade

The LG V30 release date is fast approaching, and we now have more details to share with potential buyers. This week, LG announced that its next phone will feature a brand new 6-inch class-leading OLED display. It will have curved edges to take on the Galaxy Note 8 and the new iPhone. Here is everything you need to know.

Recent V30 rumors point to some big changes that will either excite or disappoint fans of the original V10 and V20. From a bigger screen and premium design to improved cameras to waterproofing.

In fact, the LG G6 tells us a lot about the upcoming LG V30. This is because the design will be similar and LG will likely abandon the second screen in favor of an edge-to-edge display. That’s not all bad news, however, as this phone is shaping up to be one of the top choices in late 2017.

While we already know a lot about the LG V30 thanks to numerous leaks and rumors, some information is now official. LG Display on August 2 officially announced The screen for the “next big smartphone”. Of course, the upcoming LG V30.

According to LG, the phone will offer a 6-inch Quad-HD Display with the companies’ “full view” technology. This is the way they call it an edge-to-edge display like the Galaxy S8 and the rumored iPhone 8. However, the body of the phone will be much smaller than the LG V20 even with the larger screen due to the smaller bezels. Essentially the front is almost the entire screen. LG has confirmed that they have made the bezel (black bars around the screen) very small for this phone. In fact, it is 20% smaller at the top and 50% smaller at the bottom. It offers even more screen and fewer bezels than the Galaxy S8.

In addition, LG states that this phone is the first device to use the new P-OLED technology. The 6-inch display of the LG V30 will feature a curved OLED display, which should offer a significantly improved viewing experience over older LG devices. The “P” in P-OLED stands for plastic, which makes the screen more durable and less prone to cracks and damage. However, the company still plans to use Gorilla Glass 5 on the top for scratch resistance. Basically the best of both worlds.

Other features include dual 13 Megapixel cameras on the back, an improved front-facing camera and IP68 dust and water resistance. Additionally, the V30 is said to have wireless charging and a new and improved Quad-DAC for high-quality audio.

Leaks believe the LG V30 will still have the 3.5mm headphone jack and the secondary ticker screen won’t completely disappear. There’s no second screen, instead the new 6-inch full-view OLED display has a floating floating sign display somewhere.

We expect the new and improved LG V30 announcement to arrive around August 31, with the phone going on sale in late September. We’ll update this post when we learn more.
