Indeed, the 1440 p has not been offered by the PS5 until now. This is a big problem for many gamers: Despite the sharp drop in prices in recent years, not everyone is lucky enough to have a 4K monitor and is dissatisfied with the dignified definition of 1440p. That’s why it’s a definition they don’t take advantage of on the PS5, which automatically sets their games to 1080p. More than a year after the console’s release and 20 million sales, that’s about to change.
PS5 will finally be able to show its games at 1440p
As a matter of fact, Sony announced today that a new major update has arrived for the PS5. It’s currently available in beta, so it shouldn’t take long to reach the general public. Unlike the last update, which was relatively devoid of new features, this time the manufacturer worked hard to please the players. Therefore, 1440p must be added at resolutions supported by the console.
Sony also states “If you’re playing a game with a higher native resolution like 4K, you can experience enhanced anti-aliasing by sampling up to 1440p output”. To configure the default 1440 resolution Settings > Display & Video > Video Out then select 1440 from the drop down menu Resolution. It is also possible to test whether the HDMI cable is compatible from the same section.
PS5 is full of new features with its next update
If it remains the biggest innovation of this update, 1440p resolution does not come alone. Sony has also announced a new feature that lets you organize your toy library into personalized lists. Nothing could be easier to do this: game librarythen click Create a game list. Next, he should choose the titles he wants to organize in this category, then name it according to his wishes. In total, it is possible to create up to 15 lists, each containing a maximum of 100 games.
Finally, a few more minor features will be added to the PS5 firmware with this update. For example, it will be possible Compare 3D audio with standard audio and choose according to your preferences. The current activities in different games will be displayed directly on the screen just before the reboot. On the online gaming side, Sony request screen sharing for your friends to watch your games. Also, it will be easier to join a game using a dedicated notification.
