“It was all my fault” – Glover Teixeira takes full responsibility for his actions
Glover admitted he was tired in the 5th round and warrevealed how a poor weight loss affects performance. said, “Even though it was 9:30 at night, I lost weight at 3 pm and stayed without drinking water or buying anything until 9:30 at night. Then when I started to get better, I started vomiting, I started vomiting.”
Added, “I felt like I was going to vomit, couldn’t make the call after the weigh-in and that got in the way in the fifth round. I always talk to my students, ‘Losing weight gets in your way, if it’s a five-round challenge, it’ll get in your way’ And it got in my way. I guess that’s it, I’ve never experienced such a recovery.”
Glover finally concluded by saying: “I couldn’t lose weight properly, it was my fault, that’s what I’m talking about, I need to adjust, so it was completely my fault. I could be tying it to the weight. I blame the weight but I take my own responsibility, you understand?”
