From seasoned players to young novices, no one talked about the importance of mentoring. Recently, however, Ryan Tannehill gave what he called an “unsavory response” when asked if he would mentor the young Titans QB. Malik Willis.
“I don’t think it’s my job to mentor him, but if he learns from me in the process, that’s great.Ryan made a claim about Willis. These words garnered mixed reactions from NFL fans. Since then, many players have been asked if they would like to mentor the young talents in their units.

“We’re both rivals”: Chris Olave on Michael Thomas
As it turns out, Saints veteran Wide Receiver Michael Thomas has already taken over the responsibility of mentoring Chris Olave, the new WR on his team. In fact, Thomas FaceTimed Olave when it was confirmed that he would be joining the New Orleans-based franchise.
“I feel like it was exactly a year ago. It was great to be there with him and it will be great to finally be on the same team. i can’t waitAs Olave reported as ESPN’s Mike Triplett reflects on the time he had the opportunity to train with Thomas about a year ago.
“He’s shown me love since college, so we texted every once in a while. I feel like we have the same mentality. We both want to dominate. We are both rivals. When we go out on the field, we transform into a completely different person. Just knowing it and knowing that it is on the other side of the field will make us better and put us in trouble.‘ said Olave.
Olave also claimed that he couldn’t wait to learn from Thomas and Jarvis Landry. “I can’t wait to learn from those two legends. I just started playing receivers in my freshman year of high school. With Mike Thomas and Jarvis Landry helping me out here, I have a lot of room to improve. I can’t wait to maximize this,‘ he stated.
It will be interesting to see how Olave performs when he gets a chance to showcase his talent on the biggest stage of next season.
