Amazon and Google aren’t always best friends. In fact, the two firms seem to be hitting each other in the talons on a regular basis – because, it is said, because of their dominant position in certain markets and the fierce competition they maintain in many industries, products and services.
So, heUnable to find some Google apps and services in the Amazon ecosystem Alexa / Fire TV and vice versa, some Amazon services are not available in the Google product ecosystem / Chromecast. One of the biggest remaining shortcomings was probably the lack of an Amazon Music app for Google TV and Android TV.
Have Amazon and Google finally buried the ax?
Our colleagues at The Verge tell us: Amazon Music is finally coming to these devices. For now the app is only available on the latest Chromecast and Android TV, but also Spreading to Google TV and therefore it should be ready there in the next few hours.
For the rest, Amazon Music will work there as well as any other platform, with a formula similar to Spotify, YouTube Music or Apple Music. The service, like its competitors, is billed at €9.99 per month (Prime subscribers can subscribe for €99 per year, so two months free).
There is also service More than 60 million titles, and it is possible to download your playlists for offline listening. Amazon Music offers multiple sound quality levels. Most titles are in “HD” format, which means CD quality.
But the platform also has many titles in Ultra HD (bitrate up to 24 bits, 192 kHz and 3730 kbps). To enjoy the service on your Google TV or Android TV, on these devices you must go to the Play Store and download the application.
