Ever since Brian Flores initially sued the NFL, he has had a lot of support from a lot of people. It also added former coaches Steve Wilks and Ray Horton, two plaintiffs who claimed they had been discriminated against by the Arizona Cardinals and Tennesse Titans, respectively.
The news came shortly after Brian Flores added the Houston Texans to his cause. New information has been added to the case and you read “The Texans were rightly concerned that if they hired Mr. McCown instead of Mr. Flores, he would support Mr Flores’ allegations of systematic discrimination against Black candidates, especially given that the team fired Black Head Coach David Culley after just one season. ”

The Texans hired Lovie Smith as their head coach, and Flores appreciated that. “To be clear, Mr. Smith is overqualified for the role and it’s a positive thing to have another Black Head Coach recruited by an NFL football team.” However, he claims that Houston chose not to hire Brian Flores because of his lawsuit, and he stood up to systemic racism in the NFL.
Along with this update came the addition of two coaches, Steve Wilks and Ray Horton, who have their own claims. “I am proud to stand with Coach Flores and Coach Wilks in tackling the systematic discrimination that has plagued the NFL for so long.Horton said in a statement, as reported by ESPN.
“I was devastated and humiliated when I learned from Coach Mularkey’s statement that my head coach meeting with the Titans was bogus. By joining this cause, I hope to turn this experience into a positive one, to make a lasting change and to create true equality of opportunity in the future.It is a continuation of the statement.
It will be interesting to see what happens next in the case.
