What would we do without Google Maps? The app is now a part of our lives and for many it is difficult to live without it. It is regularly enriched with new features such as home screen Widget. By the end of 2021, Google adds four.
These features I want to make your travels more fluid and save you time. Note that not all of them will be available in France at launch, but if they are successful, they should arrive at once.
Google Maps marks crowded neighborhoods
This Christmas season, some shopping areas are crowded and we don’t all want to mingle with the crowds, especially in the midst of a pandemic. Google now highlights high-traffic places in real-time with orange highlights. It is also possible to drill down to check which restaurant or shop is full. This is in addition to the attendance tab according to the programs we already know.
Navigate indoors more easily
You can get lost in a closed place like an airport or shopping mall. If it was already possible to find internal stores through the plan, Maps goes even further by adding a dedicated tab listing all stores based on their service. Looking for a restaurant in this airport? See what’s available in the app.
help with shopping
This is a function that will only be found in some American cities at first. You will be able to order online from stores and see when your order will be ready. What’s more, Maps now reports your arrival time at the store using GPS. So you don’t have to wait any longer when you come to the site.
More specific notes on restaurants
Finally, this feature (also available in the United States) will allow you to have much more details about restaurants. Thus, customers will be able to comment on the prices charged or even inform others about the existence of a terrace or certain services such as deliveries.
All of its features will be released before the end of the year, but for Europe we will only have the first two for now.
