The Cleveland Browns have appointed highly controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson ahead of the new 2022 season as part of their main roster overhaul. This move came despite Watson being offended by several sexual misconduct accusations from her massage therapists.

The 32-year-old is currently a free agent in the NFL market, but failed to fully appreciate the fact that the Browns decided to take Watson’s services as their primary quarterback. Mitchell Schwartz mainly argued that there was no clarity on the 22 pending lawsuits against Watson. He also argued that the $1 million base salary looks dubious as he hasn’t played well last year, but receives equally generous payouts.
Taking his frustrations further on Deshaun Watson, Schwartz hoped the quarterback would receive a suspension from the NFL in the near future for his actions off the field.
“My hope is that if the NFL suspends him, the team can cancel the contract. In the NFL, the league doesn’t seem to be reacting very strongly unless there is video evidence. It’s like we don’t believe there is something we haven’t seen, and that’s how the NFL bases the penalty.” Schwartz wrote on his Twitter account.
“We’ll see, the NFL was clearly slow to play. They can determine that it’s true and get him suspended for a year or who knows how long. The 22 cases Watson has faced are not over. He hasn’t been cleared. But the teams/fans/those who treated him innocent. Just wrong. looks.”
