UFC Vegas 50 was truly one of the best Fight Night cards we’ve gotten from the promotion in a long time. The event’s stunning light heavyweight match made the headlines. Thiago Santos vs. Magomed Ankalaev.
Despite the two light heavyweights getting most of the attention, it would be unfair to say that the bottom card fighters didn’t add up. The whole card was ecstatic from top to bottom. UFC Vegas 50 took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, which has been the regular venue for Fight Night since the pandemic.
One couldn’t take their eyes off the event as Thiago Santos and Magomed Anakalaev headlined the event with an unlikely title contender fight and an exciting bantamweight match in the joint main event. This card had a total of 8 endings and a handful of lucky fighters then had to walk home with the bonus check. UFC Fight Night 203.
No Fight Of The Night bonus for UFC Vegas 50
The promotion has decided to reward four fighters with performance bonuses. The warriors were Khalil Rountree Jr, Cody Brundage, Song Yadong and Azamat Murzakanov. It would be fair to say that all four fighters deserve this bonus. It was surprising that we didn’t see the Fight Of The Night trophy, as most would agree that the light fight between Terrance McKinney and Drew Dober could rightfully be rewarded with a bounty.
Both fighters put up a thrilling fight despite their fights that only lasted for the first round, as Dober managed to bounce back from an utter defeat to Terrance and take a TKO win. The winners of the bonus check won by finishing the challenge. Khalil Rountree knocked out opponent Karl Roberson with his right hand followed by a fatal body kick. Song Yadong was also one of the best performing players of the night, knocking out former champion Marlon Moraes.
