How does Galarian Farfetch'd evolve into Sirfetch'd in Pokemon Sword and Shield? 1

How does Galarian Farfetch’d evolve into Sirfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

If you want to improve Galarian Farfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield, get ready for an adventure. Still, it’s worth getting because the Pokemon Sword-exclusive Galarian Farfetch’d will evolve into the mighty Sirfetch’d, which is undoubtedly one of the coolest looking entries in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex.

But if you get your party to get Sirfetch, you’ll need to do a few things in Pokemon Sword and Shield first. We’ll cover all of this as we explain how you can improve your Galarian Farfetch’d in Pokemon Sword and Shield, from catching the cute creature to what items you need to hold onto to trigger the process.

Where to catch Galarian Farfetch’d

Galarian Farfetch’d will only appear in two places on Galar, and this is a rare spawn. The easiest place to find it is on Route 5 east of Turffield. Just below the Pokemon Daycare Center is an area that descends into a small valley.

There is also the Giant’s Mirror in the Wild Field, but it will only appear in cloudy/cloudy weather.

How does Galarian Farfetch’d evolve into Sirfetch’d?

Galarian Farfetch’d will only transform into Sirfetch’d if he manages to land three critical hits in one battle. It’s pretty hard to achieve, but there are ways to at least make sure you’re giving yourself the best chance.

1. Make sure you have the Leek item to hold
You can catch wild Farfetch’d with the retained item Leek, which greatly increases the chance of landing a critical hit. So be sure to try to develop one that already includes a Leek.

2. Participate in double battles

If possible, try to find a trainer who dares in duels. This will give you multiple Pokemon to attack in a match, giving your Farfetch’d as many options as possible.

3. Teach Farfetch’d TM13 Focus Energy

Focus Energy is a special TM you can teach your Farfetch’d, which will also increase the probability of landing a critical hit. You can actually get it for free from the guy who runs the record store in Motostoke. Take the elevator from the main road to the Gym and it’s in the store across from Onix. Note that unlike TM, TR can only be used once.

4. Or opt for Leaf Knife

Besides Focus Energy, there are a few other moves you can teach your Farfetch’d that have a good chance of inflicting critical hits. Most compatible with Farfetch’d is Leaf Blade, which Farfetch will actually learn at Lv.2. You can make him learn by using 55 or TR50. You can purchase the TR50 for 5,000W from a Watt Trader in the Wild Area or potentially get it as a reward in Max Raid Battle.
