Samsung’s One UI Android skin is popular with users because of the customization options offered. One of them is the ability to hide irrelevant apps from the home screen and app drawer. You can hide apps using Secure Folder and Android launchers. Here are the three best ways to hide apps on Samsung Galaxy phones.
The app can be useful when you want to hide work apps at home. You will not want to be disturbed by irrelevant notifications while playing with your little ones. Similarly, you can hide entertainment apps during your office hours.
1. Use One UI Settings
Unlike Pixel launcher, in One UI you have a default option to hide apps. Here’s how to use it to hide apps on your Samsung Galaxy phone.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
Step 2: Swipe down to the home screen.
Stage 3: Tap on it and turn on Hide apps from the menu below.
Step 4: You can search for the application using the search menu at the top or use the alphabetical order to jump to the application.
Step 5: When you select apps, you will see them at the top.
Step 6: Tap on Done and you’re ready.
If these steps are too much for you, you can long press the home screen and go to Settings to jump straight to the Home screen settings.
Show Applications from an Interface
This time, we will use the long press trick to access the home screen settings.
Stage 1: Long press the home screen and go to Settings.
Step 2: Tap the – icon from the Hide apps menu and uninstall apps from the Hidden apps list.
Done and you will see the apps appearing on the home screen/app drawer.
2. Use Samsung Secure Folder

You can move apps from your Galaxy phone to Secure Folder protected by Samsung Knox security. Here’s how to enable and use Secure Folder to hide apps on Galaxy phones.
By default Samsung hides the Secure Folder from the app drawer. Let’s activate it from the notification menu first.
Stage 1: Use the swipe down gesture from the home screen and open the notification center.
Step 2: Find a Secure Folder from the list and enable it.
Stage 3: You will find the Safe Folder shortcut at home.
Step 4: Open Secure Folder and tap the + icon at the top.
Step 5: You can download apps from Google Play Store or Galaxy App Store or select apps from your phone.
Step 6: Select the apps you want to hide and tap Add at the bottom.
You will see the added apps on the Secure Folder home screen. You can go to the notification area again and disable the Secure Folder from the home screen.
The next time you want to access the application, enable Secure Folder from the notification area, access the application via authentication and use hidden applications.
3. Use Third-Party Launchers
If you are not a fan of the default One UI on a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can always opt for third-party launchers to change the look and feel of the phone.
One such launcher is the Nova launcher, which has recently received a major overhaul. You can install it on your Galaxy phone, hide apps, and do dozens of other tweaks.
Stage 1: Download and install Nova launcher from the link below.
Step 2: Open the app, set it as the default launcher on your Galaxy phone.
Stage 3: Go to Nova Launcher setting by long pressing on home screen.
Step 4: Go to App Drawer > Hide apps and select the apps you want to hide from the app drawer.
After that, you will not be able to see the apps selected from the app drawer menu. To show apps on your Samsung Galaxy phone, you have to go the same way.
