Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo faced Raphael Nadal First time in the opening round at Wimbledon center court. He also talked about his pre-match mentality and explained the little pep talk he gave before stepping onto the midfield turf. He added that if he hadn’t given himself this little pep talk, he would have lost the match quite easily.
“We were a few meters from the entrance, and I collected myself and said, ‘I’m going to kill you or I’m going to have a terrible time. Ever since I stepped on the grass I thought, ‘Look where am I’. I went into party mode and my nerves were gone. if I’m [hadn’t done] If that were the case, I would have lost 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.”
