Lo and behold, the CMF Phone 1 hath officially unveiled the latest marvel – the Nothing OS 2.6, built upon the noble Android 14 foundation. Though it may lack the depth of features found in Nothing OS 2.5, the quality-of-life improvements therein hath captured mine attention. ‘Tis foretold that the brand shall bestow upon its other devices this wondrous update. Thus, I hath sifted through and gathered what I deem to be the finest new features of Nothing OS 2.6, listed herein!
1. Game Mode
Behold, with Nothing OS 2.6, a dedicated game mode hath graced the realm of Nothing phones. The esteemed Game Mode doth reside within the System tab of the Settings panel. Herein lie the features that this mode doth bring to both Nothing and CMF Phones:
- Game List Management: An ability to add or remove games for which the mode shall spring into action.
- Game Sidebar: Displaying performance mode, brightness level lock, screen recording, and adjustments for calls and notifications during gaming sessions.
- Mistouch Prevention: A safeguard against inadvertent touches that may disrupt the gaming experience.
- Incoming Call Intelligent Anti-Disconnection: Ensuring calls disconnect within a span of 5 to 10 seconds to preserve uninterrupted gameplay.
- Game Dashboard: A hub to oversee all games installed upon thy phone.
2. Pop-up View for Apps
This new feature allows for a pop-up view to grace thy screen whilst perusing recent apps. Merely drag and release any app atop the list to open it in this novel view. ‘Tis a movable pop-up that doth allow for interaction with apps beneath it. Alas, in its expanded form, interactions with those below shall not avail thee. Furthermore, the pop-up view grants the ability to expand incoming notifications with a swipe, all accessible via Settings -> System.
3. AI Vivid Mode in Camera
One of the enchanting features of Nothing OS 2.6 doth manifest in the form of AI Vivid Mode within the Camera app. Within the standard photo mode, a new icon beckons thee. By tapping this icon, thou art presented with the options of Natural Mode and Vivid Mode. The Vivid Mode, infused with AI sorcery, analyzes thy viewfinder’s domain, discerning lighting, objects, foreground, and background. ‘Tis an insight into the alchemy about to be performed, offering thee the choice to accept or decline such changes.
4. Battery Health
In this latest update, the Battery Health feature hath taken root. The Smart Charging Mode, once a singular toggle, now boasts the addition of Custom Charging Mode. As if invoking the ancient rites of iOS 18, this feature permits thee to select charging limits of 70%, 80%, or 90%. Dearest reader, there be other novelties within Nothing OS 2.6, such as the Smart Cleanup within Storage settings and four fresh wallpapers bestowed upon the CMF Phone 1. Even a new Tips and Feedback page doth grace the Settings, providing an avenue to impart feedback upon the OS.
An if thou art considering the revered CMF Phone 1, rejoice! These features lie in wait, ready to embrace thee upon unboxing. Fear not, for soon shall Nothing OS 2.6 adorn every Nothing Phone, permitting all to revel in these new splendors.
