How to Turn Off Camera Shutter Sound on Snapchat for Android
There are two ways you can turn off Snapchat’s camera shutter sound on Android smartphones.
If Your Phone Has Shutter Sound Settings
Depending on the Android phone you have, the steps may vary slightly, but for the most part they will be similar.
- Open your default camera app on your smartphone.
- Go to settings or Hamburger signature.
- Find camera sounds set it up and turn it off.
This turns off the camera shutter sound on your phone, including apps like Snapchat.
If Your Phone Doesn’t Have Shutter Sound Settings
If you can’t find the option to manually turn off the shutter sound in the camera settings, don’t worry, it’s even easier for you.
All you have to do is keep your phone on silent and it will automatically mute the shutter sound of your default camera app and Snapchat camera.
You can do it directly from the toolbar or manually with the volume down key.
Snapchat can also detect that you’re using a screen recorder, so keep that in mind if you’re trying to secretly record someone’s Snap.
How Do I Turn Off Camera Shutter Sound in Snapchat on iPhone?
There is no option to mute the camera shutter sound on an iPhone. But there are two ways to turn off camera sound in Snapchat on iPhone.
Mute Button
Locate the ring/mute button on the left side of your iPhone. When the mute key is on the orange side, your phone is muted. This will also turn off your iPhone’s camera shutter sound.
Reduce Media Volume

Use Assistive Touch
You can also turn off the camera shutter sound using Assistive Touch. This is particularly useful because your iPhone can remain without Mute/Silent and you can still mute your camera’s shutter sound.
For this you need to Enable Assistive Touch first:

- Then tap . Accessibility.
- After that, press To touch.
- Tap on Assistive touch.
- Turn the switch next to Assistive Touch. When it’s on, you’ll get a green indicator.
- You can add this feature to your iPhone’s top-level Menu to use it easily.
Now, tap on Mute Control (Bell Icon) with your Assistive Touch to mute the camera click sound before launching the camera app.
