Design and Build Quality

The JioFi JMR815 comes in a truly portable form factor that looks like a small donut (minus the hole). Setting up JioFi

Setting up JioFi is really easy and it took literally a minute or so to do it. This is considering the fact that you already have a working Jio SIM. If you have this, all you have to do is open the back, remove the battery, insert the SIM card and then put everything else back.. Note that when installing the back cover, you will need to align the notch with the charging port for a snug fit. However, in the house where Jio’s network is highly respected, I was able to get a download speed of up to 5 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 3 Mbps. As I said, network speed will really depend on Jio’s coverage in your area. Also, when it comes to range, JioFi claims a range of 10 meters, but you’ll only get it if you’re within sight of the device. If you’re using the device where it gets a lot of interference, expect the range to drop significantly.

When it comes to battery life, I got almost 8 hours of use without charging the JioFi exactly as Jio claims. However, keep in mind that I tested the JioFi JMR815 at home or in the office and did not travel. So if you plan to use this while traveling on a bus or train, battery life will be reduced as you will have to constantly switch between cell towers which damage the battery.
