Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid falls into the group of players who are very outspoken in their speeches. Throughout his entire career with the Sixers, he’s given everything to keep the team leading the league, and in the process, if someone tries to pull his legs, he never fails to respond by seven feet. This is the main reason why he has had so many idle chatter with different players.
While speaking to Draymond Green on his podcast, the Sixers center talked about his journey in the NBA, noting how his relationship with former teammate Andre Drummond began before joining the 6’10 Sixers campaign this season. Drummond was sent to Brooklyn on a blockbuster package deal from James Harden and Ben Simmons, but spent half a season with the 76ers before finding himself on the move again.

Joel Embiid talks about his relationship with Andre Drummond
On the last episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show’, Joel Embiid discussed how he was doing. The tension between him and Drummond heightened what history was. While discussing this, he also claimed that he never wanted things to get serious by talking nonsense, he was just doing it for fun.
“I think I’m just bullshit most of the time, or when I actually talk to anyone in the past (Hassan) Whiteside or Drum or whoever. To me, it’s never been serious to the point where I don’t hate anyone.” said Embiid. “I’m doing this for fun and it hurts people’s feelings, it’s up to them. This has nothing to do with me. Nothing I say or do is literally me; I am kidding.”
Later, Embiid revealed how happy he was to see Drummond holding hands with the Sixers last summer, and from there the feud between them began to end. said, “Then, I was happy when you signed with us because I’m like you, when you look at previous years, it’s like every time I fell off the pitch, we were always losing.”
“When we signed him, I needed someone in my mind who wouldn’t just go out and lose the lead. So I seemed to fit what we needed and I was fine with it.”

Meanwhile, Embiid also explained how their feud was initially and what the main reasons were. “But still in my mind I can never forget that he knew the old days when I went to him.” Embiid continued.
“I remember posting a video of him dancing about that story-after liking it, so we’re going to Detroit before that game. We lost that game, but it was something like 30 and 10 and then he was kicked out or whatever, but after the game he was crazy. He was talking, like, this guy is out of shape, he can’t run and I’m like, ‘What are you talking about? I know you just won, but I’m like 30 and I’m in shape? Look at what I’m about to do to you.”
“The next meeting was a few weeks later and I, you all know what to expect. So, at the next meeting, he was in trouble. I was going to him. I had 32 in the first half. It was like killing and we were up against a lot of things.” Added Embiid.
The five-time all-star has talked about his personality, how he really is, and while he claims he never crossed the line when making fun of someone, he never meant to disrespect his opponents with his bullshit.
Embiid said, “As if where I am was never serious, I hate this man. I don’t want to be around this man. I never take it personally. I’m like a brother, he stays on the field and that’s it. After I’m off the court, if you want to talk to me, whatever you do, I’m not going to disrespect anyone other than that unless they say something disrespectful to me, is it overkill or something so I know where you are. To draw the line, but other than that, it sounds funny to me, I just move with the air, man. I just love him.”
