Skip Bayless has gone on his usual superstar hunt, but this time, Stephen Curry is on his radar. The Golden State Warriors have won the Western Conference title and have reached the NBA finals for the 6th time in the past eight seasons with a similar core. Frontrunner Stephen Curry won the inaugural WC Finals MVP award named after the great Magic Johnson. Stephen Curry was god-like throughout the end of the season, even showing his prowess and greatness by coming out of the bench and doing the most damage, reaching NBA Finals 6, but Skip Bayless still thinks his ‘resume’ is bleak.

The Dallas Mavericks won Game 4 at home, extending their conference final streak by at least one game. But the Warriors didn’t waste the opportunity to close the series in front of their fans as Klay Thompson fired on all cylinders and Stephen Curry was phenomenal in the Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors return to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons. On Thursday night, they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 120-110 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals to win the series 4-1.

Klay Thompson turned back time with his best game of the series and took the lead with eight three-pointers and 32 points. Six different Warriors scored in double digits, including Andrew Wiggins, who had another strong performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors also took a good shot from the city centre, scoring 14 hits in 36/36. Luka Doncic got off to a bad start, but caught fire in the third quarter and led the Mavericks’ comeback attempt. He beat the game with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Spencer Dinwiddie added 26 points from the bench.

“Steph’s résumé is missing a lot” – Skip Bayless on Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has won them all and has branded himself as one of the league’s most decorated players. He became a 3-time Champion and 2-time MVP in the NBA and entered the 6th NBA Finals. These stats are surprising for ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’, but Skip Bayless believes he still has a lot to accomplish to become the NBA’s Top 10 Player of All Time. He even spoke out about Steph’s win over the Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award. Bayless took to Twitter to express his thoughts on this –

Recently, Skip Bayless referred to the 2016 NBA Finals as one of two ‘superstar meltdowns’ he’s seen in the NBA. One was when the Warriors were up 3-1 in the NBA Finals in 2016 and infamously squandered the lead that led to Lebron James winning the Championship. Skip has always been critical of Steph’s performance in big games and questioned her greatness when she didn’t give excessive numbers in such games.

Shannon Sharpe said on the show that they thought winning the Finals MVP would place him on the “Mount Rushmore” of the NBA World, Shannon said. “Michael Jordan will join LeBron (James), Magic(Johnson) and (Tim) Duncan as one of six players to have two regular season MVPs, four championships and a Finals MVP. Jordan, LeBron, Magic and Duncan’ “We believe he was on Mount Rushmore. He was going to join that group. It’s a very, very elite group.”

Skip Bayless’s comments do nothing to Curry’s legacy as one of the top players to reward the game. Stephen Curry won 3 NBA Championships but was never the final MVP. A deserving star would be ecstatic with the prospect of earning this individual honor and 4th title.
