Setting an alarm on an iPhone is an easy task. But what if the alarm sound is low enough to miss or loud enough to frighten you. Several iPhone users are facing the same issue with the alarm volume being exceptionally loud or low. Are you one of them? The solutions mentioned in this post will fix alarm sound on iPhone that is too low or loud.
Before continuing, it’s important to get some things out of the way. Do not disturb mode and the Ring/Silent physical switch do not affect the alarm volume. Even with two settings turned on, your alarm will continue to sound at the set volume.
Let’s check out the various solutions.
1. Restart iPhone
Begin troubleshooting by restarting your iPhone. Usually a temporary glitch or a bug can cause alarm volume issues and a reboot should fix it.
2. Check the Alarm Volume
Alarm volume cannot be changed with volume buttons unless ‘Change with buttons’ is enabled in Sound settings. Therefore, if you need to change the alarm sound, you must enable this setting first. Alternatively, you can adjust the alarm volume from the volume slider in the Sound settings.
For that, open Settings and go to Sounds & Touch. Use the slider under Ringtones and alerts to adjust the alarm volume. If you want to change this volume using the volume buttons on your iPhone in the future, enable the Change with buttons toggle.

3. Change the Alarm Tone
The alarm volume you set may actually be quite low or loud. So change the alarm sound and check if you see a difference.
To change alarm sound on iPhone, follow these steps:
Stage 1: Open the Clock app on your iPhone and go to the Alarm tab.
Step 2: Tap on the Edit option in the upper left corner. Tap the alarm you want to edit.

Stage 3: Tap on Sound and choose a different notification tone on the next screen. Press the Save button at the top to save the changes.

4. Check the Sleep Mode Alarm
If you’re using the Sleep/Wake feature (formerly known as Bedtime) on your iPhone, it comes with its own alarm volume. You will need to check if the set alarm volume is according to your needs. Follow these steps:
Stage 1: Open the Clock app and go to the Alarm tab.
Step 2: Tap on Change next to the clock under Sleep/Wake.

Stage 3: Scroll down and under the Alarm options you will find a volume slider. Use to change the alarm sound. Press the Done button.

Fly: You can change the alarm sound for sleep mode in Health app > Your Schedule. Tap Edit next to your schedule. Then adjust the sound.
5. Turn off the Attention Feature
Various iPhone users pointed out that turning off the Attention aware feature fixed the issue where the alarm volume was too loud or too low.
Note: This setting is available on devices running iPhone X or later.
To turn it off, go to Settings > Face ID & Attention. Turn off the Attention Needs Features toggle.

6. Disable Other Alarm Apps
Do you use other alarm apps on your iPhone? Remove them and see if they mess up the alarm volume.
7. Delete Alarm
If the alarm volume problem is only occurring with a particular alarm, try recreating the alarm from scratch. To do this, delete the current alarm and set it again.
8. Update Phone
There may be a bug in the software update installed on your iPhone that could mess up the alarm volume. To fix this, you will need to update your iPhone. For this, go to Settings > General > Software update. Your iPhone will notify you if an update is available. Load. Then regenerate the alarm.

9. Reset Settings
If the alarm continues to sound abnormally, reset all settings on your iPhone. Fortunately, this is not a manual task as there is only one setting available for it.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Doing so returns all customized settings to their original values. Find out in detail what happens by resetting iPhone settings.

Time to Check Connected Devices
The above solutions should fix your problem. But if this does not happen, check the connected Bluetooth devices. Typically, if a Bluetooth device (headphone or speaker) is connected to your iPhone, the alarm will sound through the speaker of both your iPhone and the connected device. However, usually due to an error that may not happen. So turn off Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth and see if the alarm sound returns to normal.
