It goes without saying that Apple plans to add a better camera with the iPhone 7, but the latest report suggests that the iPhone 7 Plus will deliver the biggest improvements.
By adding Optical Image Stabilization to the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple has already proven that the company prefers the camera on the larger 5.5-inch iPhone. This feature is not available on iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s.
iPhone 7 Plus camera rumors come from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Kuo predicted that many of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s features have above-average reliability. These reports are not without flaws, but when Kuo claims a feature is coming, it’s much more likely than other sources that it’s something Apple is working on.

The biggest advantage of LinX camera technology is that it provides better low-light performance, improves photos with better exposure, and can deliver DSLR-quality photos, according to the company’s pre-acquisition claims. Additionally, Kuo reports that the iPhone 7 Plus may have 2-3X optical zoom. Until now, all iPhone models only support digital zoom, which compromises the quality of the photo for zooming. Many digital cameras have a 2-3X zoom feature that gets you closer to the subject without moving any closer. Currently the only way to add optical zoom to iPhone is to use a third-party plugin.
It’s early yet, and there’s a chance that such dramatic upgrades may not reach us in time for the iPhone 7 Plus release date, which reports say will arrive this fall. Kuo’s report suggests that this camera upgrade will bypass the iPhone 7 and will only come to the iPhone 7 Plus. It is possible that this is a specific iPhone 7 Plus model aimed at professional consumers who need a better camera on the iPhone.
