As expected, both come with a host of bells and whistles, including a new A9 processor, improved cameras, 3D Touch technology, a new rose gold color, stronger aluminum designs, a faster Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and more. Apple states that “depending on your carrier account status, you may be able to enjoy a discounted price on a new iPhone.” To find out if you are, you’ll need your wireless number, billing zip code, and the last four digits of your SSN.

You can also log into your AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon account through their respective websites to check your eligibility.

Use the Apple Store App

We haven’t heard of any major iPhone 6s shortages, but there’s a good chance some devices will be sold before the iPhone 6s release date. There’s also a chance that Apple’s website or your carrier’s website might fail you when the clock strikes midnight. So you really want to be at the top of your game.

Release Date Reservations

Apple will launch a new iPhone Upgrade Program in the United States that will allow you to get a new iPhone for $32.41 per month each year. The program is also covered by the company’s AppleCare+ warranty program.

It looks like you’ll be able to pick up the iPhone 6s in-store with this plan, but it’s not yet clear if you’ll be able to get them all.

Apple has offered in-store pickup with the iPhone 6, so there’s a chance this option will be available for all iPhone 6s pre-orders.

AT&T and Verizon iPhone 6s Pre-Orders

Finally, it’s worth noting that AT&T and Verizon iPhone 6s pre-orders will come with some big changes.

Apple will not sell the AT&T iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus under contract. If you want to purchase on contract, you must purchase through AT&T.

You cannot purchase the Verizon iPhone 6s or Verizon iPhone 6s Plus on a contract basis through Verizon. Verizon removed this option before the iPhone 6s release date, and you’ll need to purchase them on one of their Device Payment plans.

Apple says Verizon iPhone 6s pricing will change, so you can have that option through Apple and perhaps Best Buy. Best Buy continues to sell the Verizon iPhone 6 under contract.
