Full Elden Ring Ranni questline and secret final walkthrough

The Elden Ring Ranni questline takes you to the secret end of Age of Stars with a complex quest set in stages around the characters Ranni and Blaidd. Ranni’s mission, one of the greatest of the Elden Ring, will meet with the characters in the game and take you to forgotten cities and against cosmic horrors in pursuit of an object that will make Ranni the god of all creation. Chasing the snow witch and getting to Age of Stars is difficult at best, but use our extensive walkthrough and you’ll have no problems with the Elden Ring Ranni questline and Age of Stars.

Below, we’ve listed the exact sequence of events in Ranni’s quest, where you’ll need to go and what to do while you’re there. Check maps for specific locations and remember that you can’t do this early in the game – you’ll have to open most of the map and defeat many bosses to help Ranni. reach their goals. We’ve also divided the maps into two respective halves – aboveground and underground (mainly the Nokstella and Rot Lake area) – so be sure to check the correct ones every time. Just below the map below you’ll find the full list of targets – go get them, champ!

(Note that you can meet Oh and Ranni before that at Elleh Church, where Merchant Castle works, after you get the Torrent horse, where she introduces herself under the notably unimaginative nickname Renna. Still, this is a purely optional encounter and is not required to complete the Ranni questline. , so don’t worry if you miss the chance!)

  1. The first thing you should do Go to the Three Sisters towers west of the Carian Mansion. You will need to cross Karia and defeat the boss fight Royal Knight Loretta to get there first. Once there, head to Ranni’s Rise, the trio’s middle tower, and take the elevator to meet him in person at the very top. Consume his dialogue until he disappears, introducing you to his generals along the way.
  2. Find Blaidd in the Siofra River, where he will be waiting to talk to you. This quest is actually intertwined with Elden Ring Blaidd the Half-Wolf locations and questline, and we found his special location on Siofra there. Next, you must follow Blaidd’s quest to the point where the star falls – after which things change direction again.
  3. Head from the new crater south of Mistwood to the Eternal City of Nokron. Follow the path to the boss fight with Mimic Tear, kill him, then use the bridge until you get to the grassy area on the left. Hug the far left cliff until you find a Site of Grace called Night’s Sacred Ground, then jump onto the rooftops and follow them to the ground-level church until you find a treasure called the Fingerslayer Blade.
  4. Take it back to Ranni at Ranni’s Rise. He will give you the Inverted Karia Statue, a key item that acts as the key to a very special lock.
  5. Go to the Carian Study Hall in West Liurnia and use the Statue on the altar in front of the entrance to turn the entire tower. Then go all the way to the bottom of the tower (we’re so sorry about that) and use the bridge to reach the Divine Tower in the east. At the top of the Divine Tower is an item called the Curse of Death. Take it from the corpse it’s sitting on.
  6. Now back to Three Sisters, this time we go to Renni’s Rise, the northernmost tower. Trigger the teleporting Path Gate on the hill to be sent to the Ainsel River Main and collect the Miniature Ranni. Then try talking to him a few times at the nearest Grace Site, don’t take silence for an answer – he will eventually answer. Creepy!
  7. After you get everything you can from the doll, Follow the river to Noxtella, the Eternal City, and head down towards the Nokstella Waterfall Basin Grace Zone (you’ll need to take an elevator down from water level). From the tunnel right next to it, there will be an NPC Invasion named Baleful Shadow that looks like Blaidd – kill him. After that, the Miniature Ranni will give you the Thrown Palace Key.
  8. Go to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library, is where you fight Rennala and use the key to open the locked chest right next to her. You will receive the Dark Moon Ring. For more on the chest and the ring itself, check out our Elden Ring locked Rennala chest page!
  9. Head back Go to the place where you killed the Evil Shadow and continue moving towards the Southwest, past that area. Lake of Decay. Use the stepping stones to cross the lake to the Southwest corner and the Grand Cloister building. Here you will find a coffin on the edge of a waterfall. Get in when prompted – it will move you to the next location.
  10. this will get you Astel introduces a new boss fight called Naturalborn of the Void. Astel is a formidable opponent that uses gravity attacks to enhance her natural kicks and hits, adding delayed bursts that are usually triggered a moment after the first hit. Try to stay behind or under if possible, use a summon to get his attention, and dodge far more than your shield – most of his attacks will pierce your defenses.
  11. When Astel dies, go through the arena to the elevator, which will take you to surface level. Elevated plateau in Liurnia. You’ll be attacked by a dragon here, but you don’t have to fight it – just head to the Manus Celes Cathedral in the Northeast corner and head down the ravine below to find Ranni’s body. Interact with it to put the ring on your hand and complete your quest.

Once Ranni’s questline is over, you can complete the final chapters of Blaidd’s questline if you’re after that story.

Once you complete Ranni’s questline, this will give you vote to trigger the hidden end, but it doesn’t trigger it automatically. After you defeat the final boss of Elden Ring mentioned in our guide to Elden Ring main bosses, you will see a summoning sign on the ground that will allow you to bring in Ranni. Trigger the end of Age of Stars, a permanent decision that will end the game the way it wants. Or if you want to find any of Elden Ring’s other endings, check out our guide on how to get them all!

There are many rewards that go through Ranni’s questline, some are a direct reward for completing his quest, others are given by obligatory enemies that you must defeat from start to finish. Here is the full list:

  • Black Moon Great Sword: A unique Greatsword with good Int scaling, freeze damage, and the ability to temporarily strengthen itself with Moonlight Greatsword Ash of War. It also requires the use of Int 38 and is taken after finding Ranni’s body in the Manus Celes Cathedral at the very end of the quest. It’s also a recurring element in FromSoftware games found in games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne – so it’s also an easter egg!
  • Commemoration of Naturalborn: A souvenir that drops Astel after killing it and can be used in Roundtable Hold with the Finger Reader Enia to exchange it for a unique Ash of War, Waves of Darkness, which adds Magic Affinity to larger melee weapons and grants a special AOE attack. You can also turn it into a tattoo with the Intelligence scaling called Bastard’s Stars.
  • Silver Tear Mask and two Larva Tears: Killing Mimic Tear at Nokron’s entrance grants you a unique (if ugly) helmet and two Larval Tears that increase your Arcane stat. If you’re unsure of how to use them, check out our Elden Ring homage and Larval Tears page to learn how you can use them to truly redefine yourself.
  • Loretta’s Greatbow and Ash of War: Loretta’s Slash: To get to Ranni’s Rise you need to go through the Royal Knight Loretta and she will drop off the Greatbow (actually a sorcery that fires a special arrow instead of equipment) and Loretta’s Slash Ash of War, which is used on spears and poles. to give them Magic Affinity and a powerful upward strike attack.
