Clash of Clans Developer API Released with Stats and More

Today, Supercell, the developers behind the hit sensation and the top-grossing mobile game, Clash of Clans, released a brand new game. Clash Developer API in a limited beta. Now this may not mean much to the average gamer, but it’s crucial for hardcore gamers, website developers, Clans, Clan Wars and more in the near future.

Clash of Clans has changed a lot in the last few months. A major December Clash of Clans update changed the entire dynamic of the game, adding Town Hall 11 for those who’ve been playing Clash for nearly three years, and they’re still tweaking this update in January and February.

And while this brand new Developer API doesn’t introduce new in-game features for players to benefit from or allow us to access Heroes during battle, it’s a huge step forward for the entire game. More specifically, it will help hardcore Clash of Clan players and Clan leaders create websites, Android or iOS utility apps, and more.

The December update really shook up the game. It took the easy shields for players leaving the Town Halls to be destroyed, added the TH11 and a third hero that lets top players raise nearly unstoppable armies, and more. It was a big change that required many players to adapt and change their attack strategies, and the changes still happen every day.

But today we want to talk about the brand new Clash of Clans Developer API. It’s still in an early beta stage so there’s only a small amount of information and data for developers, but this is a promising first step that will allow tons of additions to the game in the future.

For those who don’t understand, an API is an “application interface” that allows developers to access real-time information, statistics, and content related to Clash of Clans. Now Clans can create detailed websites that show each player’s real-time stats, upgrades, trophies, attack information such as how many stars per attack, destruction percentages and more. Even add widgets to websites and eventually apps for Android or iOS to track individual players.

Imagine being able to see live updated information for everyone in your clan from an app or website with one click. How active they are, how good their attacks are, available updates, how much money they make weekly from attacks, and more. If a player’s status is not good, you can kick him out of the Clan. Another way to search and recruit players. This is just the beginning.

This can allow Clans to track other players and use real statistics and analytics to build powerful clans like nothing before. Basically making Clash more competitive than it is, and more. Developers will be able to learn more about games, hacks, customize Clash websites and create widgets. The possibilities are endless, especially as Supercell gives more access to additional data, stats and game details.

Instead of manually tracking statistics and information about a Clan, members, attacks, Clan wars and more, all of this can be done automatically. Basically, allowing any Clan with sufficient developer skills to create websites full of information and statistics about their clan, members, wars and more. Taking stats and leaderboards to the next level. However, it is still a beta and full “Player Profile” information is not yet available, such as tracking battle stats, but we expect more to be added in the future.

We could also see tons of changes in the game. Supercell can get ideas from other developers, implement neat tools, add new daily goals similar to Star Bonus, and much more in later updates this year.

This does nothing for the average gamer who likes to attack once a day, hoard gold and upgrade their stuff. For hardcore competitive players, major clans and more, this is a much needed step to take Clash of Clans to the next level. Stay tuned for more details.
