Snapchat has released a major update that could possibly change the way we use the wildly popular app. A few new features have been included in the app such as unlimited snaps, looping videos, and other promising tools aimed at keeping users engaged. One of the new features that caught our eye was the new Magic Eraser tool that lets you blur a specific part of the photo you might not want people to see. The technique works quite similarly to Adobe Lightroom’s blemish removal tool, but much more simplified. Using the New Magic Eraser Tool on Snapchat
First of all, you will need to update to the latest version of Snapchat. app store or game store. Then just follow these steps to start using the eraser tool on your photos:
- When you open the Snapchat app, you will be taken directly to the camera. Now, take a random shot and just tap the scissors icon.
- When done, tap on the Magic tool indicated by . star icon.
- Now you’re done with this, you can Blur any part of the picture by simply swiping on a specific area. For example, I’m trying to remove the Alienware logo on my laptop, so I’m going to swipe over the area where the logo is.
- Once done, wait a few seconds for the magic to happen. Then you will notice the blurry area in your snap. Snapchat replaces the blurry area with colors that match the area so that the blur is not easily noticed.
All right, that’s it. After that I don’t think I need to transfer the pictures to my computer and use Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to remove things from my pictures. However, keep in mind that unlike Photoshop, it only blurs the specific area and anyone looking at the photo can easily notice it.
