If you accidentally sent an email before you were ready to send it, there’s a feature in Gmail that you can enable that allows you to undo an email that was sent within a certain amount of time.
This feature gives you “a few seconds” to retrieve an email after sending it; this can be great if you forgot to add an attachment or any other important information; To send a second email with more information or attachments.
The undo feature is not available by default as you have to go into Gmail settings in your web browser to enable it through Gmail Labs.
However, here’s how to set it up and have the ability to retrieve sent emails in Gmail.
Undo Sent Emails in Gmail
To enable the retrieve sent emails feature, simply follow these simple steps:
At this point, you’re good to go and you can retrieve a sent email in about 30 seconds after hitting the Send button. Again, the undo feature is not available on mobile – only in the web browser.
Also note that when you send an email and then click to go to another area of Gmail, you cannot undo an email sent after that point. You can only retrieve a sent email while in the same window.
