How to Turn Off Galaxy Apps Notifications on Galaxy S7

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are two of the best phones on the market, but they’re packed with so much that it can be confusing at times. For example, it has the Google Play Store, which constantly updates notifications, a theme store, and then Samsung’s own Galaxy Apps Store. With that in mind, here’s how to turn off or disable Galaxy Apps notifications.

Now that we’ve had the Galaxy S7 for a while and love everything it has to offer, constant notifications can be frustrating. We have already explained in detail how to disable automatic updating of applications, now let’s turn off other intrusive notifications.

It’s nice that Samsung has added so many different controls and options to Android, and luckily most of them can be disabled or turned off as well. Thus, we can turn off Galaxy App Store notifications and promotions with just a few taps. Lets start.

Samsung’s “Galaxy Apps” do more than update a few Samsung’s services in the background or add extra features to the camera if you want. It also has almost ad-like notifications that let us know about promotions, Samsung Pay, new apps in the Galaxy App Store, and more.

That said, we want to keep notifications that let us know that apps need updating so users have the latest and greatest, but we can turn everything else off. Here are quick and simple instructions.

Instructions

It’s really easy to disable and turn off the Galaxy App Store from showing us all sorts of things. Simply open the app tray and find the white icon named “Galaxy Apps” and click it.

Open Galaxy Apps and tap the “More” button in the top right corner and then select settings as shown below. Our next image shows all the settings and the main one we want to turn off. Below are also full instructions once again for good measure.

However, while we’re here, users can also turn off notifications from appearing, allowing real important apps to update on their own. Or at the top of the page there is an option to turn off updates completely. We left it by default, which updates only over WiFi and disables both regular notifications and promotional push notifications. This is what we recommend most owners do.
