The new LG G3 is finally available worldwide and is coming to all major US carriers this week, and consumers are finally starting to get their hands on the brand new smartphone.
LG’s handset is packed with advanced features and technologies like laser autofocus on the back of the camera, but something we’re constantly asked is something as simple as taking a screenshot. Whether you want to take a screenshot of funny posts on Facebook, memories from the World Cup or even important emails, screenshots are an easy way to save the important stuff right from your screen.
This feature or cheat is an old feature that has been available on Android in the same way for years, but it’s one that many consumers want to learn and start enjoying right away. There are two ways LG G3 owners can take screenshots. One is the same for years, the other is the same as other LG phones like the G2 using QuickMemo. All it takes is a few buttons or swipes on the screen.
If you’ve owned or used an Android device in the last few years, you’ll be at home and probably won’t even have to look for how. However, if you are new to smartphones, an Android converting from iPhone or Windows Phone, below are a few simple steps you need to do to capture and save a screenshot.
For those who are confused. A screenshot (or screenshot) is essentially what our smartphones capture and save on the screen. This can then be edited or cropped to get exactly what you want, making it extremely useful for a variety of uses.
Instructions
As mentioned above, saving screenshots on Android devices is ridiculously easy, and the same can be said for all LG phones. All you have to do is press and hold both the power button and the volume down key at the same time. This may sound strange as the G3 has buttons on the back, but put your finger where it can press both at the same time.
Briefly press and release both buttons; You will see the animation on the screen and hear the screenshot taken. This much. Your phone saves what has been viewed and can be accessed from the gallery. From here you can share as you wish or switch to edit mode and crop the edges while adding some flair with any of the many editing tools available on Android.
If you try and it doesn’t work, try again. It’s all about hitting them at the same time with a short pause and then letting go. Timing is everything and it’s easy to understand.
However, there is a second method, which is even easier technically, but still I myself use the above method out of habit. LG has a feature called QuickMemo+, which is basically a way to quickly and easily take notes or reminders as well as take screenshots.
If fiddling with the back buttons and trying to get the timing right isn’t your thing, the QMemo+ option might be your best bet instead. This built-in feature is just a swipe gesture. Check out the video above. Simply swipe up from the bottom bezel of the screen; You will get a circle of options as shown below. These are Google Voice commands, Google Assistant and QuickMemo+.
Swipe your finger on the QuickMemo+ option and it will instantly take a screenshot of whatever is on the screen. Then LG has tools to draw on the screen, take notes and much more, but this works just as well for screenshots and just hit the save button up. Go to your image gallery and find the image and you are ready.
That’s all, you’re done. These are two extremely fast and simple ways to take screenshots on the brand new LG G3 smartphone.
