Facebook’s recent growth is due to the platform that implements the videos. While videos on Facebook are definitely a great addition, not everyone liked the autoplay videos. However, anyone without a limited data plan wasn’t really impressed with the autoplay videos because they were played without sound in News Feed. However, this is changing, with Facebook announcing that autoplay videos will now play with sound. Therefore, videos will autoplay with audio when you scroll through your News Feed on Facebook, and the audio will disappear if you skip it.
Facebook also introduced vertical videos playing in full screen, new thumbnail-based progress bar, etc. on its platform. It also announced other video updates such as Also, the company announced the new Facebook Video app for Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV and Apple TV.
While all the new updates are great, auto-playing video audio is not something I’m a fan of and if you feel the same way, Here are the steps to disable Facebook autoplay video audio:
note: Autoplay audio feature is available to users, so you may not see the options to disable it yet. Also, if your phone is muted, Facebook won’t override system settings and videos will play without sound.
Turn Off Facebook Autoplay Sound on iOS
If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, here are the steps to disable auto-sound for auto-playing videos in the Facebook app:
1. Open the Facebook app and navigate to: last tab (with hamburger menu icon). Here, tap on Settings->Account Settings.
2. Next, tap on “.SoundsSelect ” and “Videos in News Feed Start with Sound“Switch. After doing this, autoplay videos on Facebook will not play with sound.
Turn Off Facebook Autoplay Sound on Android
If you’re using an Android smartphone, here are the steps to auto mute on News Feed videos:
1. Open the Facebook app and last tab (with hamburger menu icon). Here, scroll down and tap on “.Application settings“.
2. Then you can disable the toggle that says “.Videos in News Feed Start with Sound“. That’s it, this will stop autoplaying video audio in Facebook Android app.
As of now, the autoplay audio feature is only available in the Facebook app on Android and iOS, but we will update the article with a method for the web version when the feature is available.

Easily Stop Facebook Autoplay Audio
Some people may like the new auto-sound feature in autoplaying videos on Facebook, but if you’re like me and find it annoying, you can disable this feature just as you can disable autoplay videos on Facebook. Thanks to Facebook for allowing users to easily turn off the autoplay sound.
