Auto-reply is a feature missing from Signal and other widely used messaging apps. After releasing apps to automate Instagram messages, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger in the past, a developer named TK Studio has launched an autoresponder app for Signal in response to massive adoption of the secure messaging app.
Send Automatic Replies in Signal
Autoresponder for Signal does not require you to sign in to your Signal account. Instead of uses notification access to detect incoming Signal messages. After installing the app, you must grant notification access for the app to work as intended.
1. Download and install AutoResponder for Signal from Play Store. As soon as you open it, the app will ask you to grant notification access. Tap the ‘Get started’ button and Change the ‘Auto Responder for SGNL’ toggle on the notification access page.
2nd. Tap the ‘+’ floating action button from the home page to create a new rule. Here you can configure what the received message should be and the response to it. While the free version offers exact match and similarity matching for messages, you can get advanced features like pattern matching, expert pattern matching, and even a welcome message with a professional subscription.
3. After selecting both received and replied messages, you can choose whether to enable the rule only for individuals, groups, or both. Moreover configure it to work with specific contacts and ignore others. Tap the FAB checkmark to save the rule.
4. I configured the app to respond with ‘Hello’ when someone sends ‘Hello’ and ‘Test 2’ when a Signal user sends me ‘hello’. As you can see below, the app is working as intended and has automatically responded to the message.
