There are many new features in iOS 9, but a lesser-known and not-so-official feature is the ability to put folders inside folders. Otherwise known as nested folders. Here’s how you can do that.
iOS 9 maintains the same overall look and feel as iOS 8, with just a few minor design changes that you may or may not notice. That said, there are a handful of new features in the latest version, including better Spotlight Search, transit directions in Apple Maps, overall performance improvements, and much more.
However, what Apple hasn’t really shown is there are all and lots of cool hidden features you can do in iOS 9. However, a truly unofficial hidden feature in iOS 9 is the ability to nest folders inside other folders on the home screen.
Lots of users want this feature and if you’re jailbroken you can get it, but if you’re using iOS 9 all hope is not lost.
While you could do this in previous versions of iOS thanks to bugs and bugs, it was never actually an official feature and still isn’t in iOS 9.
However, it’s a little easier to put folders inside folders in iOS 9 due to its glitches, so if you’re interested in cleaning up your home screen a bit, here’s how to put folders inside folders in iOS 9 on your iPhone or iPad.

How to Put Folders Inside Folders in iOS 9
A great way to organize apps is to put them in folders, but if you have too many folders it can create chaos that takes you back to square one. However, with the ability to nest folders inside other folders, you can free up even more space on your home screen.
There are a few steps you need to know to do this little trick, but it’s perhaps the easiest way we’ve ever seen and only takes a few seconds.
Start by making sure you have a folder in the upper-right corner of your iPhone or iPad’s screen. From there, tap and hold a folder you want to move inside another folder.
While holding this folder, start tapping repeatedly on the small area between the folder you want to move the first folder into and the status bar. It may take a few taps, but eventually you’ll open the destination folder with relative ease.
Then drag and drop the folder you are holding onto the open folder. This folder will now be inside another folder, giving you a little more space on your home screen.
This trick isn’t limited to just one folder, though. You can put as many folders as you want in another folder until you reach the maximum capacity that that folder has already set for applications.
A feature like this is great for users who have tons of apps but don’t like having tons of different pages to navigate. Putting folders inside other folders keeps your home screen page countdown while keeping all your apps easily accessible with a few taps.
This minor glitch works on all current versions of iOS 9 including iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.0.2. That seems in the air as long as Apple fixes this in a later update, but we’re not surprised to see the company fix this “issue” to squash any bugs Apple has encountered. .
In the meantime, though, enjoy this feature while you can, and hopefully it will stay for a while.
