Sony surprised gamers PlayStationlast week, when launching an update for the PS3 in 2024. The surprise came, above all, because no one expected something like that to happen yet.
The company released firmware for the console, with the intention of improving the system’s performance. Despite their astonishment, the players, of course, wasted no time and quickly updated the device.
The new feature was launched on February 27th. A Sony, however, did not go into detail about what will actually change from now on. The patch’s explanatory note only mentions that the “system software update improves performance”.
The prediction is that the effects of the novelty will be noticed over time. The process is the same as that used on superior PlayStation models (PS4 and PS5).
Sony promises that the video game experience will be more enjoyable.

How to install PS3 update?
To facilitate the entire process, the company left an instruction guide on the official website so that gamers can correctly download the update. PS3.
The text says the following:
“To download the update, you need at least 200 MB of free space on your PS3 hard drive (System Update) or removable storage media (PC Update).”
The crucial tip to keep the equipment in good working order is to always update the system with the latest version of the software. This will allow access to additional resources, in addition, of course, to improving the security.
This is a unique opportunity for the equipment, as it was launched in 2006, almost 20 years ago. It’s worth keeping an eye on to continue making the most of it.
