Where to Find Stray Notebooks in Slums?

Stray Notebooks are documents hidden around The Slums area and are key to helping Momo get the Transceiver working again with the help of other Outsiders. If you trace Zbaltazar, Doc, and Clementine’s research notes on the Outside, it may be possible to contact those beyond The Slums, but unfortunately these volumes are too well hidden about the town. If you want to progress the story and move on to the next chapter, you’ll need to find all four Stray Notebooks, so we’ve got a full breakdown of where they can be found.

Note that while the Stray Notebooks are numbered 1 to 4, they can be collected in any order and you do not need to meet with Momo before collecting the other three documents, so you can approach this task as follows, as with the Stray safe code. any order you want.

Stray Notebook 1/4 – Momo

As soon as you arrive at The Slums, your first task from the Guardian is to see Momo in the tall building with the orange neon sign. There are many different ways to get there, and the sign is an obvious landmark to aim for, but if you’re struggling, climb up to the roof of the bar, then look for the sign as you head forward and up. Once you get there, a few jumps on the air conditioning units will take you to the balcony, which you can climb out of the window. If you haven’t done a Stray Scratch for this episode yet, stick your claws in Momo’s rug.

Once inside, meet Momo and show her the postcard; at this point he will tell you about his troubles in building the Transceiver and taking a break with his friends. He’ll also give you Momo’s Notebook as part of this dialogue, which is one of the four Stray Notebooks you’ll need to complete the set. Also while you’re here, you can open the beaded curtain to the bedroom area to collect one of the Stray B-12 Memories by scanning the video game poster on the wall.

Fugitive Notebook 2/4 – Zbaltazar

Go up to the roof with the higher of the two paint can launcher robots, then cross the pulley and follow the string of lights to a higher level with a fan spinning between some AC units. On the side you will find a sign that says “Ventilation power supply” and a circuit breaker you can interact with to remove it. This turns off the spinning fan and lets you jump into the room below.

Once inside, jump off the bunk bed and look for a pile of boxes in the middle of the room that you can jump over and then jump again to knock them down. Check the now open box that has dropped and inside you should find Zbaltazar’s Notebook, the second of the Stray Notebooks in the set.

Stray Notebook 3/4 – Document

In one of the top corners of the roofs, you’ll find a TV and sofa under a row of lights – if you sit there and browse all the channels, you’ll win a trophy in the process. Follow these lights to the balcony behind the sofa with lanterns and a blue sign, where you’ll find a gap in the door to access the library.

In the back corner of the library, you’ll find a small pit tucked behind several stacks of books. Climb inside, then translate the note left on the bed, which will provide you with the safe keys as well as a clue as to where to find it.

Back in the main library room, look for the not-so-well-hidden safe behind a few stacks of books, then knock them over so you can reach the door. Interact with the vault and use the keys to open it, then grab the Doc’s Notebook inside to get the penultimate entry in Stray Notebooks. If you check out the piano in the corner of the library, you can also find one of the Stray Notes locations to work towards one of the Stray Badges while you’re here.

Stray Notebook 4/4 – Clementine

Go up to the rooftop of the bar, then look for a window above you in a blue wall with yellow light shining from inside. Jump through the pipes that run around the building and you’ll soon be able to jump out the window.

Inside the apartment, go through a gap in the door leading to the bedroom area, then on your left you will find a small side room with loads of books. There’s a computer at the end of that room, and if you jump on the table you can pick up Clementine’s Notebook from the top of a monitor.

This completes your Stray Notebooks collection, and when you give them all to Momo you can move on to the next chapter in the story.
