The best Elden Ring armor locations and sets 1

The best Elden Ring armor locations and sets

The best Elden Ring armor locations are all over the map, allowing you to find really powerful gear in some cases just to know where it is. The Exiled Knight armor, for example, can be obtained from a simple enemy. Things like the Radahn armor or the Raging Wolf armor involve taking on some tough boss battles, but the armor you get may be worth the effort. Here we have 12 sets of Elden Ring armor that we think are the best and where and how to get them.

Choosing from what we have here will depend on how you play Elden Ring. There are armor sets here that are made for speed, things like really heavy tanks that can really take a beating, etc. Be honest about how to play – there’s no point in playing magic-focused, wit/dexterity and then spending many years getting power-focused armor. Although there is an Elden Ring respect system that will allow you to change your build if you really want to. Whatever your plan, it’s probably best to spend some points on Endurance. This stat determines what you can carry, and almost any armor you can find needs extra buoyancy to use it without affecting your speed.

Below we have the best Elden Ring armor locations marked on a map so you can find them easily (just make sure you collect all Elden Ring map pieces). There’s also some additional information on what it is or why you might want it. It’s definitely worth checking out later as there are some great stuff you can pick up surprisingly quickly. And to help you get good gear fast, we also have some of the best Elden Ring early game guns loaded with surprisingly easy-to-get stuff.

Elden Ring armor locations

While some armor in Elden Ring can be randomly dropped by certain enemies, most of the best armor sets are not like that, and we’ve narrowed down the armor to help players feeling a bit bare. What we’ve put below and above are some of the best armor locations considering the needs of multiple players. If these armor sets are reclaimed in Roundtable Hold, we’ve marked the location of the boss you need to kill to unlock them.

1. Exiled Knight armor

It’s a fairly common armor that is surprisingly one of the best in the game, despite being quite heavy. All pieces have a very low chance of dropping from Banished Knights, the occasional tall, tough knights that roam the later areas of Stormveil Castle (like the mimic veiled room).

2. Radahn armor

Radahn Boss Fight tips

If you’re after his armor, we’ve got some help here on how to defeat Radahn in the Elden Ring. It’s notorious for being a tough fight, so you’ll get all the help you can get.

The Radahn armor set is definitely one for those with a great Stamina and Equip Charges. heavy set. It provides excellent protection as long as you level up enough to move in it. You’ll also need to defeat Radahn at Redmane Castle first, it’s not exactly a walk in the park (see the manual in the box for help there),

But once defeated, you buy the Set from Enia in Roundtable Hold. The helmet, arms, legs, and chest armor can all be purchased separately from Runes for Enia in Roundtable Hold, as long as you own the runes. Given the weight of the entire set, it’s not a bad strategy to buy bits one at a time to increase your protection while increasing your Endurance stat to carry them all.

3. Furious Wolf armor

It looks great, but also provides very good defense without being too heavy. Complete two assassination contracts for Lady Tanith at Volcano Mansion and then go hunting with her maid, Bernahl, in Leyndell. Along the way you’ll also get the Scaled Armor, which is a handy replacement for Radahn’s armor and looks pretty cool.

4. Knight armor

This is a heavy but solid midgame armor sold by the Twin Husks after defeating Godrick in Roundtable Hold. He’s a tough boss when you first meet him, so if you’re struggling to beat him, we have a guide on how to beat Godrick in Elden Ring, which should make things more manageable.

5. The Queen’s Crescent Crown

Part of the Queen’s kit, this helmet increases intelligence when worn. After learning how to get the Elden Ring Raya Lucaria Academy Glintstone Key to get to it, it is unlocked by defeating the boss Rennala. Once defeated, you can purchase the crown from Enia in the Roundtable Warehouse as long as you have the Runes.

6. Vagabond armor

Another heavy but solid option that isn’t organically available until the middle of the game. Vagabond starts with it, or is sold by one of the Elden Ring merchants in the center of the Mountain of Giants Hills, next to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Grace Zone.

7. Scale armor

Lightweight but protective armor that works well in the early game. Sold by the merchant next to Castle Mone Rampart Grace District.

8. Land of Reeds Samurai armor

Good protection and surprisingly light. The samurai starts with it or is sold by the merchant in Northern Caelid next to the Isolated Merchant’s Cabin Grace Estate.

9. The Great Helmet

Despite being just a helmet, this provides incredibly high defense and is well worth pursuing. Sold by the merchant in Southern Caelid with the less conspicuous Champion armor set.

10. Karolus and Olivinus Glintstone Crowns

If you don’t get the Queen’s Crescent Crown, these helmets increase your intelligence at the expense of Stamina or HP, depending on which you use – a solid choice for Mages. Both found at Raya Lucaria Academy, both need detours to find the following:

  1. (a) Olivunus Located south of the Grace Schoolhouse Classroom Estate. Go left and hit the bookshelf to reveal a hidden balcony. Jump left, follow it and climb the rocks to find the crown on a corpse.
  2. (b) Carolus Right after the Grace Debate Hall Site, where you fight the Radagon’s Red Wolf boss. Go outside, then head to the northwest corner of the courtyard and hug the left road at the cliff edge to find a glowing crab in the bushes. Kill him for the Crown of Karolus.

What is the best armor set in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring structures

There are many different play styles you can follow in Elden Ring. Want to focus on giant swords, precision parrying, or melee combat with all the magic you can muster? Here are some of the best Elden Ring builds we’ve found.

The best armor sets for us are the Banished Knight and Radahn armor, the first two options in the list above. Both offer great protection, but they’re also very heavy, so you’ll want to be mindful of how much you wear in case you weigh yourself down. In general, if armor is important to you, we recommend boosting your Stamina a lot. Wearing too much armor and equipment triggers a “Heavy Load” state, causing you to move and roll much slower and at the expense of more stamina – a bad effect we don’t recommend, no matter how protected you are. Keep your total equipment weight below 70% of your Equipment Load to avoid slow rolling.

As for the rest, the best armor in Elden Ring will depend on what type of character you’re building, as well as what type of enemy you’re up against. Armor doesn’t have just one protective feature, instead how much protection you get depends on what hits you – some resist magic attacks better, others help you more against physical attacks. Keep this in mind when considering boss fights and what you’re up against, as well as your own weaknesses and strengths.

Can you upgrade armor in Blacksmith?

No, armor can’t be upgraded or upgraded in Elden Ring, but with one small exception that slightly changes the stats of certain sets of outfits in Sites of Grace – usually removing certain parts of the armor like cloaks, reducing weight as well as lowering overall protection. Unlike guns and guns, Hewg and other blacksmiths won’t upgrade your armor no matter how many Elden Ring Smithing Stones you offer – it’s up to you to find a better set.
